For six weeks, The Phriday Files stopped arriving and our channels went quiet. We promised you "free, every Friday" — and then, without a word, we broke that promise. If you noticed, thank you for your patience. If you're new here, this is us owning it up front.
What happened
In mid-September we had to relocate our office on an emergency timeline. The reason is one we're proud of: our new workspace runs entirely on solar power — every scan, every report, and this newsletter now reach you courtesy of sunlight. But the transition took far longer than we planned. Hardware sat in boxes, connectivity came and went, and instead of telling you that, we said nothing at all. The solar part we stand behind. The silence was a mistake, full stop.
What's restored
The Phriday Files are back — edition #5 shipped this week with the six weeks of lawsuit data you missed, and the Friday cadence resumes with edition #6 on November 6. The free scanner never stopped running. And the quiet weeks weren't idle: the Safety & Security Compliance Halo (one site audited against SOC 2, HIPAA, PCI DSS v4.0, ISO 27001, and the EU AI Act) and the free-forever Cookie Compliance module both shipped during the move.
Why solar fits a small-business tool
Phriday exists to help small businesses do right by every customer without enterprise budgets. Running on sunshine is the same idea: do the work, waste nothing — not energy, not your time, not your money. Plain reports, honest pricing, and now a smaller footprint behind all of it.
Questions, complaints, or a store you'd like scanned — we're at marge@phriday.app, and we answer.
